Choreographer's notes:
The song starts with 16 counts of instrumental, then the lyrics start with "I was" on count 17.
Start dancing on count 18 (on the word "there").
Over the course of the whole song, you will dance the pattern 5 times.
At the end of the 3rd time, add the 12-count tag.
After count 16 of the 5th time, the music stops and restarts. Hold while the music is stopped,
then continue dancing at count 17 when it kicks back in.
 
First 8: Syncopated rock step forward, L coaster step back, R & L together, applejack R & L
1&2  Rock R foot forward, recover weight on L foot, step R foot together
3&4  Step back on L foot, step R foot together, step L foot forward
5-6  Step together R-L
&7&8  Applejack left, applejack right (weight ends on L foot)*
 
*For an easier alternative, on "7" twist heels left and on "8" twist heels to center ending weight on L foot
 
Second 8 (9-16): Syncopated 1/2 R and 1/4 R monterey turns, scuff, step, heels out-in-out
1&  Touch R toe to right side, pivot 1/2 to right on L foot and step R foot together
2&  Touch L toe to left side, step L foot together
3&  Touch R toe to right side, pivot 1/4 right on L foot and step R foot together
4  Touch L toe to left side (now facing left side wall)
5-6  Scuff L foot forward, step L foot slightly forward
7&8  With weight on both feet twist heels out, twist heels in, twist heels out (ending weight on L foot)
 
Third 8 (17-24): Repeat first 8 counts
1&2  Rock R foot forward, recover weight on L foot, step R foot together
3&4  Step back on L foot, step R foot together, step L foot forward
5-6  Step together R-L
&7&8  Applejack left, applejack right (weight ends on L foot)*
